3. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely using Supabase (hosted on AWS) with encryption in transit and at rest. We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information.
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
Supabase — authentication and data storage
ElevenLabs — text-to-speech and speech-to-text processing
Sentry — error monitoring and performance tracking
Anthropic (Claude) — AI-powered lesson generation, pronunciation feedback, and conversation practice. Your text input and learning context may be sent to Anthropic's API for processing. No audio or personal identifiers are shared
Langfuse — AI quality monitoring and prompt analytics (no personal data sent)
5. AI-Generated Content
Some content in glot.it (lessons, grammar explanations, conversation responses, pronunciation feedback) is generated or enhanced by AI models. Your text input during chat and practice sessions is processed by Anthropic's Claude API to provide personalized responses. We do not use your data to train AI models.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We only share data with the service providers listed above as necessary to operate the app.

You have the right to:

Rewards Program & Activity Tracking
glot.it participates in the Mushi Mushi Rewards Program. When you opt in, the app tracks certain in-app actions — such as page visits, bug reports, lesson completions, and time spent learning — to award you points, tier badges, and perks (gems, Pro access).
Opt-in only. Activity tracking for rewards requires your explicit consent via the in-app prompt. You can withdraw consent at any time from Settings → Privacy.
Data minimisation. Only action type, timestamp, and session metadata are recorded. Your email is hashed (SHA-256) before storage; raw email is never persisted in the rewards system.
Retention. Activity events are retained for 90 days by default, then automatically purged.
Your rights. You can export your rewards activity or request deletion via the Mushi SDK data-export endpoint. Deleting your glot.it account also deletes your rewards profile.
Third party. The rewards program is powered by Mushi Mushi (mushi-mushi.dev). Their privacy policy governs data processed on their servers.
8. Delete Your Account & Data
You can request permanent deletion of your account and all associated data. This action is irreversible and will remove:
Your account and login credentials
All learning progress, vocabulary, and statistics
Saved sentences and practice history
Friend connections and community contributions
Any subscription data (subscriptions must be cancelled separately via Google Play or Apple)

glot.it is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
